WIRI MENS CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

Dominion Constructors were awarded the concrete and precast erection package for Wiri Prison Houseblocks. This comprised of excavating and concrete to the foundations, erecting precast panels supplied by Fletchers cast all intermediate walkway slabs and core areas.

The scope of works included in this project was the excavation and concrete work 3456m³ concrete and installation of 1972 precast panels to form prison cells for the Prison. The precast panels were then grouted using a cement based grout some 65,000 litres to join the pre-cast panels and to fill the Drosbach’s.

The bulk of the work was completed in 9 months. The remaining work, the exercise yards were done as and when Fletchers could give us access to complete them.
