TRENDS PUBLISHING

Dominion Constructors were appointed by Mr&Mrs Johnson to construct the new Trends Publishing office building, which also included the construction of the basement car park and penthouse apartments above.

Construction was standard slab on grade, five levels of reinforced concrete structural frame. It also included the excavation of in rock in-situ columns using steel column formwork, precast beams and precast die core floor units.

A hammerhead tower crane was erected in the middle of the site principally to erect the precast and structural steel and lift in some of the materials for the apartments on the top floor being built by others.

Cladding of the office structure was precast concrete panels.

Special features included some of the precast panels being in exposed aggregate, coloured concrete in the window reveals and outside some panel edges.
