ST CUTHBERTS COLLEGE PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE

Dominion Constructors were appointed as the main contractor for the construction of the new Performing Arts Centre at St Cuthbert’s College. Dominion’s role was to ensure the building was completed to the highest standard, offering top quality facilities for musical and dramatic performances, as well as classrooms and individual practice rooms.

As part of its brief, Dominion was responsible for overseeing all phases of the construction process including assisting with design detail, programming, subcontractor coordination and site management. Long-term durability was a key requirement in the construction of the building. The building’s concrete and block work structure as well as the exceptional high quality external and internal design features required detail to be continually developed during the construction and fit-out stages.

The external facade presented the challenge of integrating a broad array of materials from copper to stone and two different roofing systems. Dominion successfully integrated all cladding materials to ensure the weather-tightness of the building.

Dominion Constructors utilised its longstanding certified systems to control noise and traffic restraints and manage the health and safety of the personnel and students on this busy site.
