SPARK ARENA (FORMERLY VECTOR)

Dominion were contracted by Mainzeal to complete all concrete works for the Auckland City Arena; a multi-purpose facility with a 12,000 seat capacity.

Dominion completed in-situ raking beams and columns, installed precast bleachers, placed the large 80 x 40m arena floor and all other ancillary concrete requirements. The project posed several challenges in addition to the tight and demanding deadlines. Construction alongside the busy central city rail tracks of the Britomart tunnel and working through winter, weather conditions were often compounded by regular thick fog due to the closeness of the sea.
