SOMERSET GRAND METROPOLIS

Subcontracting to Multiplex Construction, Dominion completed the 40-level concrete structure of this high profile landmark. The construction involved the placement of 34,000sq m of concrete flooring, 3000 lineal metres of columns, 1050 lineal metres of precast columns and 6800 lineal metres of precast beams. A suspended concrete swimming pool was also constructed by Dominion on level eight.

Further works included fabrication, installation and operation of a jump form and perimeter screen system, placement of Spandrel panels with a specially developed mobile lifting device. Dominion also worked on the refurbishment of the existing courthouse building, which would become the hotel foyer.

With a tight construction schedule, Dominion achieved a 6-7 day turnaround for the floor construction, enabling the works to be completed within the specified programme.
