RAIL STATION AND BRIDGES

Dominion Constructors has carried out a number of projects for KiwiRail/Ontrack, ARTA over the past seven years within the rail corridor in the Auckland region. These projects have provided Dominion Constructors with a valuable level of knowledge of the restraints and requirements of working within the rail industry. From this experience Dominion Constructors and its workforce have gained valuable expertise in working in the live rail corridor.

Projects have included:

• Bridge 57 NAL: installation of 5 SPG bridge beams and two impact beams to an existing rail bridge at Henderson. $700,000 value
• Bridge 55 NAL: replacement of an existing single track SPG rail bridge and construction of a new concrete pedestrian bridge. $3.36 million value
• Bridge 53 NAL: duplication of an existing single track rail bridge involving installing new concrete beams and concrete deck on the existing concrete piers and abutments. $750,000 value
• Bridge 60 NAL: duplication of the single track concrete rail bridge. $3.15 million value
• Sunnyvale Station Construction: construction of the new Sunnyvale Station platforms to service the newly duplicated tracks. $1.162 million value
• Middlemore Station lifts and overbridge: construction of pedestrian overbridge, two lift structures and stairs. $1.18 million value
• Papakura Station lift and overbridges: construction of multispan pedestrian ramps, and overbridges and lift shaft and stair structures. $2.89 million value
• Sylvia Park Station lifts and overbridge: construction of a pedestrian overbridge, lifts and stairs for a new station. $2.11 million value
• Otahuhu Bridge 364 NIMT re-build: staged reconstruction of the bridge in 2005 associated with the new Mainfreight terminal works. Dominion also carried out the raising of the main span in 2009 to improve electrification clearances. Reconstruction value $1.80 million; raising value $320,000. DART 1
• Newmarket Station: concrete package key subcontractor, including station concourse, platforms and reconstruction of Remuera Road Bridge. $3.2 million value.
• St Marks Road Bridge: key subcontractor for the replacement of this bridge to improve the electrification clearances. $710,000 value.
• Bridge 316 NIMT: replacement of an existing double track bridge with a precast trough deck unit. $840,000 value.
