MAINFREIGHT WESTNEY RD, MANGERE

Dominion Constructors, as the main contractor, has delivered this new, 8500m², temperature controlled warehouse which is linked to a 3000m² breezeway. This included the construction of a new office space and access points into the existing warehouse.

This project also included the construction of a new 3000m² cool room (already delivered) along with associated plant rooms within the existing warehouse, new office spaces for the Airfreight building, conversion of the existing warehouses canopy into a new ELA room, and the upgrade of Montgomery Road with a new access road onto the premises.

The original contract value for this project was $16 million, with an additional $5 million worth of variations to include additional works to existing facilities.

As this is an operational warehouse, work was carefully managed to ensure minimal disruption to their business. Due to time constraints throughout the project, a very tight programme was developed to ensure the new cool room was completed in the three month construction time frame that was required.

This warehouse called for 17m high pre cast panels which were trucked onto site. This was managed to cause minimal disturbance to the client and its core business.
