Dominion Constructors was the main contractor for the construction of Mainfreight’s flagship 12,000m² warehouse and office facility. The warehouse itself utilised insulated panel cladding to enable a temperature-controlled environment.

The tight 6-month construction timeframe included the demolition of existing buildings, cut and fill bulk earthworks and timber piling to stabilise the ground in certain areas prior to pouring the floor slab. The 10,500m² concrete floor of the whole warehouse space was completed using the Denka floor slab system in only 6 pours, exceeding the high finish requirements and specified floor flatness ratings.

As the main contractor, Dominion successfully managed up to 30 different subcontractors from earthworks contractors through to finishing trades over the 5ha site.
